The Qur'an is a Message from Allah to all humanity. This message was given to the Prophet Muhammad in pieces over a period spanning approximately 23 years (610 CE to 622 CE). The Prophet was 40 years old when the Qur'an began to be revealed to him, and he was 63 when the revelation was completed.
The language of the original message was Arabic. But it is an obligation for every muslim to know the divine message. And we are to be held responsible as much as we understand he Qur'an. Hence it has been translated into many other languages. Translation of the Qur'an is not the literal word of Allah, and hence cannot be equated with the Qur'an in its original Arabic form. No translation can sabstitute the inimitable arabic text.
This translation is only an attempt to present the meaning of the Qur'an in English made in Turkey by one Turkish Islamic scholar from the Arabic text. Every effort has been made to choose befitting and equivalent vocabularies and to avoid any mistakes.
Most of the English translations of the Qur'an generally follow the archaic vocabulary and style of English Bible, which makes the meaning ununderstandable. Since it has been aimed at the average English knowing reader to understand the meaning of the Qur'an, a simple and clear English has been employed. No brackets has been used and no commentary has been adopted. This translation is a plain literal one. Alongside with the meaning and the message, the lucidity and the fluency and the eloquence, and the soothing and pleasing character of the Qur'an has also been strived to be transmitted.
